Is it too much to ask that at some point in the past month I had enough time (before 10pm) to clear off the table so we could set up our Christmas tree? For that matter, is it too much to ask that I have enough time to fold the clean laundry instead of storing it in a loose pile? This past month has been little more than a reminder of all the things I need to and want to do but haven’t been able to do. I’m trying not to get discouraged, but at this point I feel like Christmas morning will be quite a surprise for the children. I can see two scenarios:
1. Presents Christmas morning, with my children wondering why Santa came in November this year? (There’s no way it’s December, there are no decorations, no advent, no Christmas scripture nightly reading (just the regular stuff, don’t worry!), no carols.)
2. No present Christmas morning because I haven’t found the time to buy and make them. Maybe for Christmas we can sign all the Christmas cards we have but haven’t sent out …
Either way, the next couple of weeks are going to be interesting.
