Texas State Fair 2017 – a photoblog

Cross-posted from Cherry Blossoms {The Blog}.

The State Fair is over for another year. A perennial favourite, we went with thousands of our closest strangers and had a blast! One day is not enough time to see and do everything.

Fortunately for us it was cloudy and cooler than normal the day we went.

If you aren’t from around here then you may not know Big Tex. That is 55 feet of Texan right there and he is the symbol of the fair.
I loved the hanging umbrellas — so fun!

The Midway Barker was great! This was my first time catching his act and it was so much fun. He really knows how to play to his audience and was really interactive.

Does it get more Texas than feeding a longhorn at the state fair?

Fun, colourful selfie spots scattered around the park.

Even a fun selfie spot mural at the auto show!

So. Many. People.
My kids (the two in blue on the left) played with the remote control trucks over and over and over and over.

Most fair food isn’t exactly photogenic, but it was all so yummy. We had turkey legs and fried pizza and fried jambalaya. Funnel cakes and fried twinkies for dessert! It’s a good thing we do a lot of walking at the fair. It’s likewise a good thing we only go once a year.

Until next time …
