You win some, you lose some

I found a picture from August of last year. It was my feet on the bathroom scale. At the time I took it I thought it would be motivation to get back on track, since it was more than five pounds higher than when I had left Texas a year prior.

And it’s ten pounds lighter than I am now.

Alas. I worked so hard to lose 15 pounds in Texas and I’m not back to my California weight. Welcome back all long lost pounds!

My trainer friend calmly reminded me today that these are strange times and to give myself grace. But the thing is these were strange times in March. At this point we are no longer sprinting nor running a marathon. This is life.

It won’t be forever but this is life right now. We can’t keep talking about how it’s temporary so anything goes. We need to live in this moment the best we can. And for me that means continuing my quest to find a healthy lifestyle in my new environment.

  1. ❤ Give yourself some grace, It's hard finding a new normal. If you need an accountability buddy, I'm here for you! I've been trying really hard to lose the weight I immediately gained when the gym closed in March. Ugh. It's so frustrating to work so dang hard to lose weight and then have it come back so fast.
